Estadio Deportivo are waving the white flag on behalf of their local club Sevilla after hearing Manchester United could be keen on Leander Dendoncker.

The Premier League club have been scouting heavily in Belgium for some years and there’s been links with the Anderlecht player at several points, with Dendoncker even talking about it himself.

The midfielder-turned-defender playing against England at the World Cup and having a reasonable game has obviously encouraged links with a move to the country, and that’s sent Estadio Deportivo off with their panic.

Indeed, so hard would it be to compete with Manchester United, Estadio Deportivo state it would be ‘impossible’ for Sevilla to step in if Jose Mourinho really does want the player.

Dendoncker is 23 years of age and could be considered a flexible squad player with a high ceiling for future progression. After a difficult start to the season with Anderlecht, the footballer became much more important as the campaign went on.

Should Mourinho want a reasonably priced (likely under €30m, unless Anderlecht go back on their assurances) option who can perform in both central defence and midfield, and who has high potential, then Dendoncker would be a good option.
