Cologne star Ellyes Skhiri has insisted he is ‘open’ to a move this summer if suitors such as West Ham make an offer.

Skhiri has been repeatedly linked with the Hammers for the last few months, with several reports in Germany indicating that he is on their radar.

Indeed, last month BILD reported that he had been offered, via his agent Fali Ramadani, to the ‘whole of Europe’ with Napoli believed to be in from of West Ham at that moment in time.

That same report indicated he was available for as little as €15m, with his club looking to raise €30m from sales to cover losses caused by Coronavirus.

That fee would be more than achievable for West Ham as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a European campaign this season.

So far, there has been no move from David Moyes and co, though, but Skhiri has insisted he’s open to it if that changes.

“I think the situation is clear for the club and me,” he told BILD, with the newspaper saying he now ‘breaks his silence’ on the situation.

“I’m here, and I’m doing my best, but if there’s a good opportunity to take the next step, I’m open to it.

“Playing in a European competition would, of course, be a new step for me to move on.

“As long as I’m here, I want to help the team, and I’m glad that I’ve already managed to do that with my goal in the cup. If it ends up that nothing comes of it, then I’ll be happy to stay.

“I myself have only read about it. I don’t talk to my advisor on the phone every day.”
