Lyon have ‘initiated contacts’ with Tiemoue Bakayoko as they eye a move for the Chelsea midfielder this summer.

That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who says that the French side are continuing their efforts to find a midfielder for Peter Bosz’s squad.

That has seemingly led them to the former Monaco man, who returned to Chelsea this year after a loan spell at Napoli but is expected to depart once again.

Their attention is on Bakayoko, according to Di Marzio, who says that they have ‘initiated the first contacts’ ahead of a move.

They want to try and work out the ‘feasibility’ of a potential operation for the French midfielder, who could return to Ligue 1 four years after his move to Chelsea.

He is ‘waiting for a new adventure’, with it made clear that he is not a part of the plans moving forwards at Stamford Bridge.

Lyon could offer that, and it seems they’ve held the initial talks to discover whether a move is possible for them.

The nature of those talks isn’t mentioned, but given it doesn’t say they’ve contacted Chelsea, we’re sure it’s more contact with Bakayoko’s agents to find out what his clients demands may be.

Indeed, given the lack of information, we’d suggest this potential move is in the very early stages at this point and not worth getting excited about just yet.
