Quickly becoming one of the more in-demand defenders in Europe due to his performances at Inter, Alessandro Bastoni is a wanted man.

However, Inter appears to be his home for the time being, and he will stay there for the foreseeable future, at a club where he broke through under Antonio Conte, now at Tottenham.

The relationship the two had at the Serie A club didn’t go unnoticed, and his performances were excellent under the Spurs manager.

This led to speculation he could join Tottenham at some point, but he would be very expensive, and a move to the Premier League can never be ruled out, especially when Conte is there.

Bastoni gave an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday, where he was asked about his relationship with the Spurs manager.

He said: “The title came with him, coinciding with his arrival at Inter. It is as if I made a qualitative leap. Conte is a driver, a motivator, who makes specific requests to his players trying to transfer a winning mentality. I owe him so much.”

The 23-year-old continues to be a regular under Simone Inzaghi, while Tottenham are currently third in the Premier League and top of their Champions League group, most recently losing 2-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
