Leeds United’s Luis Sinisterra has insisted he’s learned from his sending off in the 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.

The Colombian joined Leeds in a big money move from Feyenoord in the summer as the Whites sought a replacement for Raphinha.

He’s been a hit under Jesse Marsch so far, bagging three goals and one assist in nine games in all competitions.

While there have been plenty of highlights for him at Elland Road, the obvious low point is his red card against Villa.

The forward was shown a quick-fire double yellow in the clash with Villa earlier this month, first being booked for a foul and then quickly shown a second when he failed to retreat ten yards and blocked a Douglas Luiz free kick.

That earned him his marching orders, something that left Jesse Marsch with his head in his hands on the touchline and plenty of criticism afterwards.

The Leeds man admits he is not proud of it, particularly as it was his first ever sending off, but insists he’s learned from the experience moving forwards.

“Haha, that’s not going to happen again,” he told Voetbalzone.

“I don’t know exactly what happened and it wasn’t an action out of frustration. It was an unconscious moment.

“But to be honest, both the first yellow card and the second one were given easily. For me at least, the red card was unexpected.

“The opponent was stalling a lot and a lot of time was lost, so I wanted to rush them a bit.”
