Burnley fullback Connor Roberts seemingly now has a real chance of signing for Leeds United before the end of the day.

That’s today reporter by Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who shares the latest news on the Clarets’ move on deadline day.

It’s said Burnley are on the verge of completing the signing of Lorenz Assignon from Rennes, with reports even claiming he already headed to England to sign the contract.

With a new right-back in the squad, the Clarets ‘will let’ Roberts go to Leeds, Tavolieri says.

For now, there’s no information on how much the Whites will pay for the signing, or even whether that’s a loan or a permanent deal.

Roberts had 16 appearances for Burnley this season, and began the Premier League season as a starter, but then ended up losing his place and was only entering the pitch as a substitute.

With Assignon’s arrival, his situation is only set to get worse, and that’s why a move back to the Championship was on the cards.

We shall see how much playing time he’ll get at Leeds now, and even if there’ll be a chance for him to get bought.
