Despite having Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot for the right-back position, it isn’t unusual to see Manchester United being linked to new players for that role, with Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries being one of them.

In the past few months, a few reports from the Italian media have been talking about Red Devils interest in the Dutch player, with recent stories even claiming that Erik ten Hag’s side are in ‘pole position‘ to sign him.

Today, it’s Calcio Mercato who feature an update on this scenario, once again stating that Manchester United are one of the clubs who are ‘monitoring’ the situation of the 26-year-old.

The outlet claims Inter Milan have set a price of €40m to let Dumfries go. And the interest from Premier League clubs in Dumfries seems to considered genuine by the Nerazzurri, because they’re said to already be looking for a replacement.

Manchester United could have competition from Chelsea, according to the report, and Calcio Mercato claims these are ‘hot hours’ for the Serie A side in the transfer window.
