Earlier on Friday, we covered an article from Corriere della Sera claiming that Paulo Dybala’s agents were in the process of setting up meetings in London to talk to Premier League clubs.
One of those was going to be Manchester United, with it stated the Red Devils would be interested, but only if they were to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese star has made it clear to the Red Devils that he wants to leave if the right offer comes in, which then led to him missing the start of pre-season, citing family reasons.
This has only fuelled speculation that he’s trying to force an exit, which would then open the door for Erik ten Hag to not have to centre his plans around the forward.
That’s where Dybala could come in, as per Corriere della Sera this morning, which is also backed up by Gianluca Di Marzio.
Speaking to Wettfreunde in Germany, he was asked about the Dybala situation and said: “Inter pulled out, AC Milan and Roma are on the list, but will enter the race only if he decides to earn a less. They haven’t bothered signing him yet.
“Manchester United, yes, if Ronaldo left, but they are looking for a number 9 and if they get Dybala, they will have to change their playing style. But he’s on Manchester United’s list.”
Di Marzio then goes on to explain other clubs are also keeping an eye on the Argentine, like Sevilla, but makes it clear the player wants to be ‘in a top club’, but none have come forward bar Inter.
That leaves a door open for Manchester United, but it also remains to be seen if he is a player Erik ten Hag actively wants in his squad.
