When Paulo Dybala announced that he would be leaving Juventus on a free transfer, no one thought he would still be without a club on July 8th.
Premier League clubs, like Manchester United, were linked fairly quickly, but it was clear the player’s preference was always to either stay in Italy or move to Spain.
The problem is, no one has seriously moved for him other than Inter, who can’t afford him right now following the return of Romelu Lukaku and their inability to get rid of Alexis Sánchez.
And even then, the Chilean’s exit ‘would not be enough now to reopen the case’, according to Corriere della Sera.
That leaves the player with few options at his disposal, and ‘those who assist Dybala have understood this for some time, well before the very recent public slowdowns’ of those in charge of Inter.
That’s why ‘contacts in the Premier League have been reactivated and appointments have been made in London (where Manchester United also have offices) in the next few hours’.
This comes after a paragraph recalling that Dybala and Paul Pogba were together in Miami, where ‘they will surely have addressed the Manchester issue’.
They then add ‘Manchester United are waiting for Ronaldo’s eventual exit to decide whether to get serious again (for the ex-Juventus star) after the attempt (in vain) back in 2019’.
It’s worth pointing out this all suggests Dybala’s entourage could have a chat with the Red Devils about potentially moving to Old Trafford, all the while their headline outright states ‘his agent is now talking to Manchester United’.
We’re not sure if those talks have actually started, but the general consensus here is that the Argentine is getting desperate, and if Cristiano Ronaldo does leave, then he might have to make do with Manchester United if they come forward and offer him a contract.
Oh, and his demands have now gone down, since he can’t get himself a club, with Corriere della Sera believing ‘he would sign for perhaps €6m/season’.
