Burnley consultant Alexander Rosen is in the mix to become the new sporting director at Cologne.

That’s according to BILD, who report that the Burnley man is in the mix to replace Christian Keller at the 2. Bundesliga club.

The newspaper explains that Thomas Keller is currently in charge on an interim basis, but it remains to be seen how he long he will be responsible for future planning.

A new sporting director is likely to arrive in the summer and various candidates are being looked at. Rosen is one of them. He is currently working as a consultant for Burnley and was a candidate to succeed Keller last year.

He is one of several names currently on the list at the club alongside Jonas Boldt, Rachid Azzouzi and Samir Arabi, although Arabi is likely only to be an outside contender.

What has attracted them to Rosen isn’t made clear, but he’s on a five-man shortlist and could be approached in the coming months.

Whether he’d want to swap the Premier League with Burnley for a move to Germany, where Cologne could return to the Bundesliga this year, they’re second in the 2. Bundesliga, remains to be seen.
