Manchester City should act quickly if really want to sign Sead Kolasinac from Schalke 04 this summer.

Last week it was claimed Pep Guardiola had met the player’s agent in order to get ahead of the competition, and Manchester City’s chances of signing the player look good if their interest is as serious as claimed.

However, the Italian press seem pretty confident that Kolasinac could be signing for a Serie A side soon. According to Tuttosport today, AC Milan are only waiting for the club’s new ownership to be made official so can make a final move for the player.

As the 23-year-old is running out of contract at Schalke this summer and can already sign a pre-agreement, it’s just a matter of getting to him first. Kolasinac is said to have given his word to Milan, and in two weeks he could be called to have his medical at the club.

That leaves a window for Manchester City and others to snatch the player.

It’s worth noting that Milan’s takeover seems to have been ‘imminent’ for over a year and things haven’t moved as quickly as those involved hoped. There’s even been suggestions it could breakdown altogether.

During January it was reported in Italy that Juventus had agreed a deal with Kolasinac, and then that disappeared.

If Manchester City are seriously interested, and the claims of Guardiola meeting the player’s agent are true, then it would be a surprise if Kolasinac were to sign for AC Milan instead.
