On Friday, we briefly covered an article from Le10 Sport claiming Arsenal were interested in bringing Adrien Rabiot to the Emirates next season, and contact had already been made with the player’s entourage about a potential transfer.

Of course, there’s nothing too exciting about this, as Arsène Wenger’s admiration for the 21-year-old midfielder isn’t exactly a secret anymore, but the French website decided to add a little bit more a few hours later to make everything sound a bit more exciting.

As explained above, the player isn’t an Arsenal target, but more someone the manager would like to see at the club, meaning that a potential move to London for the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder rests on Wenger’s future at the club.

Were the French manager to decide he didn’t want to continue at the Emirates beyond the current campaign, then there is a good chance the Adrien Rabiot folder could be put to one side.

While the interest is currently ‘very serious’, Le10 Sport report as an exclusive things could change very quickly in the coming weeks.

Frankly, this is pretty much a given, as most targets at Arsenal will currently be Wenger’s.

The French manager basically runs the club, and were someone to take his place, summer transfer targets would definitely change.

Best to wait for a decision to be made before even getting remotely excited about this story.
