Stoke City’s Joselu signed for Deportivo La Coruna at the start of the season on loan to replace Lucas Perez, who made a move to Arsenal.

The 26-year-old, however, hasn’t featured after his debut match against Athletic Bilbao due to a knee injury.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the Spaniard has returned to training, as he continues his recovery.

Marca say Stoke owned Joselu had sprained his internal lateral ligament of his right knee, but returned to do some light training with his teammates yesterday.

Joselu’s workload in training will be increased gradually now, and he could return after the international break, against Sevilla on November 19. Marca say it’s a ‘great boost’ for manager Gaizka Garitano.

Joselu has another couple of years left on his contract after next summer, and could return to Stoke City as Deportivo don’t have the option to sign him permanently.

What Stoke really don’t want is for Joselu to not have a good season, and return to the club next year, with less interest in his services.
