Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport today highlight Inter Milan’s interest in Arsenal centre-forward Folarin Balogun.

For starters, it’s impossible to speak about this chase without mentioning Romelu Lukaku. The Nerazzurri had the Belgian forward as they absolute priority this summer, but following the weekend drama, which included a ‘furious’ call with Nerazzurri chiefs, they started moving for other targets.

That’s where Balogun comes in. He’s a target who fits into Inter Milan’s budget, because Arsenal reportedly demand €40m for his sale, and that’s exactly how much the Serie A giants had saved to spend on the Chelsea player.

The Nerazzurri just seem a little afraid about the investment because the Gunners’ striker is just 22 and doesn’t carry a lot of experience. Their idea was to sign someone who can give immediate results, and he gives no guarantee of that.

Still, it’s highlighted that Balogun had ‘excellent’ numbers while on loan from Arsenal at Stade Reims. He had 22 goals and three assists in 39 appearances for the French club, proving he may be ready for a big challenge.

Now as Inter Milan decide whether to spend €40m on him, they also have other options on the table. Those are the likes of Mehdi Taremi, Alvaro Morata, M’Bala Nzola, Jonathan David and Gianluca Scamacca.
