Fulham are keen on signing Atlético Madrid’s Çağlar Söyüncü in the winter market, as per a report from Italy.

The defender joined the La Liga side as a free agent last summer and has been restricted to 110 minutes of action from six league games, which includes one start. He’s made two more substitute appearances in the Champions League this season.

His current situation in Madrid has seen both Fulham and AS Roma consider making an approach, according to Sky Italia.

José Mourinho has requested his employer strengthen their defence this month and the Serie A side have now set their sights on the Turkey international. It will only be feasible for them to sign him on a loan deal and they would have to wait until the end of this window.

That’s because the 27-year-old has a market abroad and especially in the Premier League, where Marco Silva’s side are named as the only interested party.

Sky further add Fulham have ‘already presented an offer’ worth €20m to bring the former Leicester City man back to England.

Therefore, Roma will only stand a chance to sign Söyüncü if he were to reject Fulham and other offers.

There’s no mention if either the centre-back or Atlético are open to a transfer in January.
