Four days ago, Mundo Deportivo stated Chelsea are willing to pay Estevão Willian’s €60m release clause.

The Palmeiras youngster is on the front page of today’s Mundo Deportivo, where it’s said he has offers from several clubs, including the Blues.

Within the report, it’s claimed Chelsea are one of the teams ‘putting maximum pressure’ on the Brazilian club to sign him.

Palmeiras, in return, are putting pressure on the 16-year-old and his agent André Cury to evaluate the proposals he has received and soon make a final decision.

The Brazil U17 international cannot arrive in Europe until he turns 18 years of age in April 2025 but Palmeiras want to close the deal as soon as possible. Estevão is delaying his decision, in order to fulfil his dream of joining Barcelona.

Curry will be in Spain next week for Vitor Roque’s presentation, and will take advantage of it to hold talks with Barca president Joan Laporta and sporting director, Deco, for Estevão.

The player and the representative are aware of the La Liga side’s financial situation. They are willing to help them and force Palmeiras to accept a formula that can allow Barca to carry out the deal.

Mundo state Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are willing to pay €61m and even raise the offer by paying ‘everything in cash. This would please Palmeiras but Estevão and Curry need to be convinced for the Premier League side or PSG to close the deal.

Apart from Chelsea, PSG and Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal are also interested in the teenager.

More developments could be expected after Curry meets Barca next week.
