According to Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Fenerbahce are considering cancelling Vincent Janssen’s loan deal Tottenham Hotspur earlier than expected, because of the injury he sustained in December.

The Dutchman could be ruled out for another three months due to injury, and Tottenham have been informed of the situation.

Fenerbahce’s medical staff don’t know when the player will return, but it’s likely he’ll be unavailable for the foreseeable future, so cancelling the loan is ‘on the agenda’.

Due to the Tottenham player’s injury, Fenerbahce may need to bring in a striker before this week’s transfer deadline, and former Chelsea forward Samuel Eto’o is reported to be an option for the Turkish giants.

Janssen only joined Fenerbahce on loan in September, but has played just eleven games for the Yellow Canaries in all competitions this season.

The Netherlands international has struggled for goals since arriving in Istanbul, but has been praised for his work rate, a similar story during his debut season with Tottenham.

It’s unclear whether Fenerbahce have the right to send Janssen back, but if he’s going to be injured for the rest of the season, or majority of it, then it may be considered better he recovers at Tottenham.
