Former West Ham sporting director Gianluca Nani believes Franck Kessie would be the perfect fit for Chelsea. The Atalanta midfielder has been linked with the Premier League side in recent weeks after impressing for the Serie A side this season.

Speaking to TMW Radio, Nani was asked if Kessie was ready for a transfer to Chelsea. Nani said the West London club are one of the world’s best teams, and that the 20-year-old could do well in the Premier League. Nani pointed our it’s now up to Atalanta if they sell the young midfielder, but highlighted Chelsea are still looking at the player for a reason.

“Chelsea are one of the strongest clubs in the world. Kessie is a player who can do well in England, but these assessments are up to him and Atalanta. If Chelsea are still looking then it’s for a reason,” said Nani on Chelsea’s links with the youngster.

Kessie joined Atalatna in 2015 and after a loan spell with Cesena last season he’s established himself at the Italian club. Despite his age Kessie has already won ten caps for the Ivory Coast.
