Milliyet have reported Bursaspor are very close to securing their first summer signing, following claims the Turkish side have agreed personal terms with former Norwich City defender Sebastian Bassong.

The player is currently a free agent after his contact with Norwich City recently expired, and he was told by the Championship side this wouldn’t be extended.

The Turkish side are to appoint Robert Prosinecki as their new manager and Milliyet say the former Real Madrid star has given the green light to sign the departed Norwich City player.

The central defender has already travelled to Turkey to check out the club’s training facilities ahead of a potential move to the Turkish League Cup winners.

Bassong had spells at Newcastle United, Watford, and Tottenham Hotspur during his time in England, and last season he made 13 appearances for Norwich City.

The 30 year old was among seven players who were released by Norwich City at the end of last season.
