On May 10th, Giallorossi.net reported Tottenham Hotspur have made concrete moves to sign AS Roma’s Roger Ibañez in the summer.

Gazzetta dello Sport now looks at Roma players who are facing an uncertain future, and the defender’s name is included in the list.

Tammy Abraham was expected to be Roma’s most profitable sale of the next window but that option has now been ruled out after he suffered a serious injury. Therefore, Ibañez’s sale could bring ‘important income’ to the club.

The 24-year-old has suitors in the Premier League, ‘first and foremost Tottenham’. He’s valued between €35m and €40m by José Mourinho’s side.

Sport Mediaset also state Spurs want the centre-back. The Serie A side ‘urgently need’ to raise €30m before June 30th to balance their books. Therefore, they are ready to sell the Brazilian.

When discussing his suitors, Tottenham and Atlético Madrid are mentioned. It’s claimed Roma are requesting €40m to sanction Ibañez’s sale.

The north London club can take advantage of Roma’s urgent need to raise funds to quickly seal a deal for Ibañez this month.
