Fulham goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga has indicated he would be more than happy to remain at loan club Girona beyond the end of the season.

The goalkeeper has been speaking to Marca, during which the subject of his future was naturally brought up.

He’s currently on loan at the Spanish club from Fulham, having decided to leave Marco Silva’s side temporarily following their signing of Bernd Leno in the summer.

He’s been a regular for Girona since, making 17 appearances in La Liga so far, becoming their number one at the end of October and not losing the position since.

The loan deal is set to end in the summer, at which point Gazzaniga will need to make a decision about his future given his contract with Fulham expires at the same time.

Extending his two-year stay at Craven Cottage beyond that point looks unlikely at this moment in time and he has admitted he would be more than happy to return to Girona if the possibility is there.

“Me and my family are feeling good here,” said.

“My teammates and the coaching staff have treated me well from day one. The first objective is to stay in first class and then we’ll see.”
