Leicester City have repeatedly been credited with continued interest in Kara Mbodj, since they made two offers for the player during January. Claudio Ranieri wanted to strengthen an at times shaky defence, and Kara seemed a reasonable target.

However, Anderlecht were set against a sale, even though Leicester’s offer went to around €10m. The Belgian club were keen on a strong title challenge, and needed Kara for that.

The defender has been assured he can leave in the next window, and this week reiterated his desire to move to England. Kara also complained about poor treatment from fans, and Screen Shot 2017-04-27 at 10.04.53now an Anderlecht fan group has come out to try and end things the right way.

Anderlecht’s ‘De Fan Board’ have made a public statement saying they hope Kara can celebrate a title win with them before moving on to new things.

There’s a decent chance Kara’s new club will be Leicester City or someone else from the Premier League, and Anderlecht fans want him to leave on good terms.
