Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has told the Italian media he needs to bring new aspects to his game to remain in Serie A. The 27-year-old is currently on loan with Empoli, but could make the move permanent in the summer.

Speaking to Pianeta Empoli, Bellusci said he thinks he is lacking in quality, which he feels is also the case with Empoli this season. The Leeds United player believes in order for him to continue playing in the Italian top flight then he must develop as a player.

“I think we realised we are no longer the sparkling team of recent seasons and if you do not have the same quality you have to make up with quantity. The quality that I have is very little, so to stay at this level I need other features,” said the Leeds United.

There have been recent claims Bellusci will leave Leeds United for €2m in the next window, with a condition on Empoli’s Serie A survival. The Tuscan side are on course to maintain their Serie A status, and with Bellusci no longer in Garry Monk’s plans at Leeds United a permanent move is looking very likely.
