Arsenal have not made a bid for the Paraguayan international Miguel Almirón but there has been an approach, according to his agent.

Recent reports said the Gunners had offered Lanus €11m for Almirón, but the player’s representative cleared up the situation.

“Actually there was an approach, but it didn’t go any further,” Daniel Campos told Sport Witness. “I see it more for the future.”

When asked about how much would be enough to take the midfielder from the Argentine side, Campos said: “That’s up to Lanús. But around €10 million.”

The agent also revealed that Almirón would love a move to Arsene Wenger’s side: “No doubt he’d be delighted to play in the Premier League and for Arsenal.”

The 22-year-old can play in different roles in midfield, including as a box-to-box player or as a winger. He’s been dubbed the ‘Paraguayan Di Maria’ by the excited local press.
