Even though there haven’t been any reports of negotiations or bids from Everton for Sporting midfielder William Carvalho, the Toffees are getting a mention in this saga pretty often now.

On Wednesday, two different newspapers talk about the chase. The first one is Correio da Manhã, who has a short paragraph saying Carvalho is not leaving the Lions for less than €40m.

The outlet claims that any interested club will have to prepare the pockets to land the midfielder, with Everton being the only side named.

Newspaper Record also has a short story on Carvalho’s ‘open future’ today, claiming the player is trying to make sure not to harm Sporting in case he leaves the club this summer.

Yesterday, we covered a story from the very same Record which said that Carvalho had changed agents, and would now be relying on Stellar Group to find him a new club in England.

However, Record writes today that it’s Pere Guardiola, and not Stellar Group who is taking care of his career. So it really sounds like they had this paragraph on Wednesday just to fix the little mistake.

Either way, Everton’s interest is referenced in that report too.
