Fenerbahce have turned their attention to Everton forward Bernard as they look to add to their options on the wing this month.
That’s according to Takvim, who say the Brazilian will be a target for the summer if they can’t do a deal this month.
Bernard has been linked with a move away from Everton since the summer when Roma made a late bid to try and sign him at the end of the transfer window.
That failed, but they’ve been linked with a move again this month, although the latest reports from Italy indicate that a transfer is proving too difficult to get done.
Takvim report that, amid their efforts to sign Bright Osayi-Samuel from QPR, they are also taking an interest in Bernard.
The club are keen to strengthen on the wings, and the club’s management had ‘turned their sights’ to the Brazilian, while they’ve also ‘tightened the contact’ with Everton about a possible move.
It’s explained that they have taken ‘concrete steps’ and talks between the two clubs are ‘progressing positively’ at this moment in time.
It all depends on Osayi-Samuel, though. If Fener can get him this month as opposed to the end of the season, they will abandon the move for Bernard and instead do a deal in the summer.
Should QPR prove too resistant to that, however, then Bernard will be targeted this month instead.
