Emre Mor was very close to a move to Inter Milan in this window, but according to the recent reports from Germany the deal collapsed, partly due to the player’s ego.

Now, Everton and Fenerbahce seem to be among the most seriously interested clubs. It’s been speculated Mor could be a fitting replacement for Yannick Bolasie, who will not play at least until Christmas due to a long term injury.

We covered reports today that Everton are in the ‘mix’ to sign Mor, as Ronald Koeman looks at options for the left side of his attack. The Everton link is causing interest in Turkey, due to the fact Mor would moving to the Premier League and the biggest stage of all.

“For now, 20-year-old Mor stays at Dortmund,” Kicker write in a short piece about Mor with a title ‘Ego as obstacle’. A couple of days ago, his departure seemed to be almost a certainty.

“In his first year in Dortmund, the dribbler often stood in his own way,” Kicker added. “He saw himself in the starting line-up, opposite to the then coach Thomas Tuchel, who wanted to bring him on the field in a special manner.”

Kicker believe Mor could still leave Dortmund, but they’re clearly concerned about the player’s ego holding back his development.

Given Ronald Koeman’s issues with Gerard Deulofeu, Mor may therefore not be the perfect target for Everton.
