Real Sociedad want to hand an improved contract to Willian Jose, report Mundo Deportivo. The Brazilian striker scored 15 goals in La Liga last season and that’s seen him attract attention from elsewhere.

It’s stated Borussia Dortmund informed Real Sociedad of their interest, via the player’s agents, but backed away from the potential signing when told they’d have to meet Willian Jose’s €60m termination clause.

The same claims state Everton continue to ‘drink the winds’ for the player and Wolves have recently come into the picture.

‘Drink the winds’ or ‘Beber los vientos’ is a Spanish saying which in this instance would be used to describe how keen Everton are on the player, but they haven’t yet done anything concrete about it.

It’s from a 1775 poem by Francisco Gregorio de Salas (thank you Wikipedia) about a man who fell in love with an innkeeper and instead of buying a drink would sit there and ‘drink the winds’.

Wolves claims started in Brazil just under a week ago, and it was reported the new Premier League club had made an approach about signing the player.

Presented as still interested, the Wolves route surely has to now be less likely given they’re closing in on a deal for Benfica’s Raul Jimenez.
