Juventus’ Federico Gatti is still on the transfer agenda at Everton and Nottingham Forest.

The Toffees were reportedly keen on signing the defender in the last window but received no encouragement from him. Earlier this month, Tuttosport stated the Tricky Trees made a ‘maxi offer’ for the 25-year-old in the summer.

Both Everton and Nottingham Forest haven’t forgotten about Gatti, if Calciomercato are to be believed.

It’s explained that the Merseyside club have returned to the picture as they are ‘still interested’ in signing the centre-back. They are joined by others and this is when Steve Cooper’s side are mentioned. That’s all the report has to say about the Premier League duo.

Gatti has scored three goals from 13 games this season, which includes winners against both Monza and Napoli in the last two matches.

At the weekend, his father Ludovico Gatti told Tuttosport that Federico was approached by a few Premier League sides in the previous window.

“In the summer a couple of English clubs wanted him. I always thought that the Premier League was a type of football suited to him,” he said.

“But my son sees it differently: he has always and only wanted Juventus. He did very well, he never liked transfers against his will, like when Torino gave him to Alessandria at 14 and then when Alessandria didn’t think he was up to the mark.”

Ludovico hasn’t revealed the details of the English clubs and it’s quite possible it could be Everton and Cooper’s side.

His comments also indicate both Sean Dyche’s side and Nottingham Forest would find it difficult to take Federico away from Juventus.
