On his way to Nottingham Forest, Gustavo Scarpa has already left Brazil.

The player covered his departure on Instagram, posting a picture of himself at the airport, making it clear he’s now going to England.

“Can I start subtitles in English/Portuguese now????? Gratitude for everything that has happened in my life. God is too good!!
Thank you, from the heart, for all your affection and respect.
Dream challenge!!! Let’s go.”

Gustavo Scarpa is set to join Nottingham Forest as a free agent. Technically, he still has a contract with Palmeiras until the end of the year, but since the Brazilian season ended before the World Cup, there was nothing stopping him from leaving the club early.

The midfielder joined the Verão in 2018 and had very successful years there, as he won two Brazilian leagues, one Brazilian cup and two Copa Libertadores.

It was only in 2022, however, that Scarpa actually reached his peak. Proof of it is that in this most recent title campaign, he was awarded the best player of the season.

The move to Nottingham Forest had been an open secret during the entire campaign, and only after the title did the player decide to openly speak about it.

In case you want to know more about the player, Sport Witness recently featured a story about what he can bring to the City Ground.
