Manchester City have become the latest club to be credited with interest in Andrey Santos.

Having come up through the ranks of Vasco da Gama’s youth setup, the 18-year-old made his debut for their senior team in 2021 and starred for them this year.

The midfielder has managed eight goals from 36 matches in all competitions. His displays have caught the attention of several clubs, including Manchester City.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who state that Pep Guardiola’s side ‘won’t give up’ on signing the Brazilian.

Newcastle United, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid were the clubs to first ask for information about the teenager. Manchester City and Chelsea are now thrown into the mix, with the latter said to have taken concrete steps to secure his services.

The Premier League winners have ‘no intention of standing by and watching’ their league rivals get ahead of them. The Citizens want to take advantage of Guardiola’s ‘charm’ to try to sign the Vasco da Gama star.

It’s claimed Manchester City have ‘already studied the moves’ that is needed for them to get ahead of the west London club in the battle to sign Santos for about €15m.
