Southampton have struck a deal with Genk for striker Paul Onuachu, with him now set to have a medical with the Saints.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who says the two clubs have agreed upon an €18m deal plus €3m in bonuses, and the whole affair is a ‘done deal’.

Onuachu has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the last 48 hours, when it has been reported that both Everton and Southampton were looking at him.

It is the latter who have been pushing with more intent, though, and now seem to have found the breakthrough they were looking for.

Tavolieri reports that the two clubs have found an agreement worth €18m plus €3m in bonuses and there is no sell on clause involved in the deal.

According to his information, Onuachu is now set to undergo a medical with Southampton and then sign a three-and-a-half-year deal with his new club ahead of tonight’s deadline.

The striker has 16 goals in 19 Jupiler Pro League games this season, which is exactly why Nathan Jones will have wanted him.
