It looks like bitter rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce will go head to head to sign Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin before the transfer deadline.

Earlier today we covered reports from Turkey that Galatasaray remain interested in the Frenchman, and now Haber Global’s Fenerbahce journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu claims the Yellow Canaries are also in talks to sign the player.

Sabuncuoglu says Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has met with Schneiderlin’s agent Pascal Boisseau with regards to loaning the player from Everton.

According to Sabuncugolu’s information, Everton are looking to loan him for free, but they want the Istanbul side to cover all his wages during the potential loan spell.

The midfielder’s agent Boisseau reportedly wants €2.5m a season from Fener for his client, the salary he’s earning with Everton after tax.

It’s been well documented in the Turkish press that the Super Lig club are in the market for a defensive midfielder and they’ve been linked with the likes of Victor Wanyama and Luis Gustavo.

Claims earlier today said Galatasaray have already made a loan offer with the Premier League side for the 29 year old.
