Having decided to sell Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool and potentially losing Moises Caicedo in the same summer, Brighton & Hove Albion are going to need some new midfielders.

Tuttosport on Thursday, relayed by FC Inter News, bring the latest updates on that search, with Roberto De Zerbi seemingly taking matters into his own hands.

The newspaper explain the Brighton manager was recently spotted ‘two nights ago’ at a Japanese restaurant in Milan with Piero Ausilio, one of the directors of Inter Milan.

It had nothing to do about him taking over from Simone Inzaghi, who has the trust of the Serie A club after guiding them to a Champions League final, but there could be a player who was brought up.

It’s explained that despite Ausilio being a big fan of the Brighton manager, ‘the roles of the two may have even reversed’.

This is because while Inter were keen on Alexis Mac Allister, the Argentine went to Liverpool, and Tuttosport speculate that Kristjan Asllani might have been one of the players discussed by all involved.

Something to keep in mind as Brighton continue their quest for reinforcements after important sales.
