Crystal Palace are said to still hold an interest in Moussa Sissoko, despite missing out on the midfielder to Tottenham Hotspur. French newspaper L’Equipe believe that Palace are one of a number of clubs who remain attentive to the player.

Another club named as interested is Inter Milan, but the Italian club are probably linked to more players than any other in Europe and the huge squad investment seems to have been just around the corner for about three years.

It’s considered quite possible that Spurs will let Sissoko go for a fee around €20m, but Palace may have more pressing concerns than the initial money they’d have to part with. Sissoko would likely demand high wages, and he’s looking for somewhere to give himself a platform for the France squad and, whether he’d be right or not, may feel he could do better.

Despite a good recent run under Sam Allardyce, Crystal Palace are still in serious danger of losing their Premier League status, and with that they’d surely lose any chance of signing Sissoko.

One to park until the summer.
