Crystal Palace have recently been linked with a move Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun after the Premier League side tried to sign the player in the last window.

The 26 year old has got off to an impressive start this season, and he stood out during Besiktas’ 2-1 win over AS Monaco last week, scoring both goals for the Turkish side.

His displays have subsequently brought him to the attention of other clubs, and Crystal Palace can expect competition from Wolfsburg and AC Milan for Tosun in the next window.

There was a claim in the Turkish media this weekend that Wolfsburg are keen to partner Tosun with veteran forward Mario Gomez and have tabled an offer in the region of €10m for the Turkey international. The Bundesliga side have got off to a poor start this season, and are looking to put this right by signing Tosun.

AC Milan are also reported to be interested in the Besiktas star, and they too may come in for the attacker in January. The Serie A giants spent nearly €200m in the last window, and could look to continue spending in the new year.

However, as it stands Crystal Palace are the club which has offered Besiktas the most for Tosun after they put in a bid of £12.5m during the summer. This bid was rejected because it came on deadline day, meaning the Turkish champions couldn’t bring in a replacement Tosun headed to Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace have continued to track Tosun, and they recently sent scouts to watch the player in Turkey’s last two internationals.

The Eagles were also in attendance for Besiktas’ Champions League clash with Monaco last Tuesday, and it’s expected they will again put in a bid in the next window.
