With the Italian media giving big coverage to AC Milan’s match against Newcastle United, it seems the Rossoneri fans are just as excited about their debut in this year’s Champions League.

As reported by Daily Milan, supporters are organising a ‘spectacular’ mosaic, planning to ‘cover the entire San Siro’.

The ‘choreography’ is being handled by Curva Sud, a fan group, and is expected to take part in all sectors of the stadium. The story doesn’t have many details of it yet, so that should come as a surprise when the teams enter the pitch.

AC Milan got far in last season’s Champions League, getting knocked out by their local rivals Inter Milan in the semifinals.

Now as they are believed to be in a group of death, it’s hugely important that they can get a win against Newcastle at the San Siro, as there are tough challenges against Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint Germain coming up.

Newcastle’s impressive campaign in the last Premier League season drew big attention from all over Europe, and that’s what makes it an even bigger match for the Rossoneri.

Oh, and the small matter of having lost 5-1 to local rivals Inter at the weekend.
