Chelsea’s poor start to the season is something being commented on all around Europe, with many people trying to find those guilty for the Blues’ form.

With Calcio Mercato always looking at the transfer market, they now feature quite a long story about a specific player, and that’s Mykhaylo Mudryk.

Calling him a ‘€100m flop’, the outlet highlights that he was one of the ‘crazy expenses’ Chelsea have invested in since their takeover.

Calcio Mercato recalls that Mudryk ‘carried the label of a phenomenon’ back in Ukraine, and now disappoints with his start at Stamford Bridge.

Since joining the Blues in a move from Shakhtar Donetsk in January, the winger has had 21 appearances with no goals and two assists. That includes his four games played by him this season, which had no direct involvement in goals.

The story highlights that taking care of the player’s psychological state will be key for Chelsea to help him find his best form. That was something previously explained by his former manager Roberto De Zerbi, and it seems Mauricio Pochettino will have to take that advice.
