Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has admitted he could stay at Lyon beyond of this season.

The full-back is currently on loan at French club, having joined in the summer when it was made clear there was no place for him at Chelsea.

He’s proven to be a big hit with Peter Bosz’ side, making 32 appearances in all competitions and establishing himself as a key player.

He’s due to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer, with Lyon likely to be keen to keep hold of the 27-year-old, but there are also other suitors on the horizon.

Juventus are thought to be particularly keen, while Lazio have also been brought into the mix thanks to Maurizio Sarri, who is known to be a big fan of the player.

Where he ends up, or indeed if he returns to Chelsea, remains to be seen, and the defender has now admitted there is every chance he stays in France with Lyon.

“Of course, yes, I have no problem saying that I can stay at OL,” Foot Mercato report him saying.

“It’s a pleasure to be here. There are different factors. It doesn’t just depend on me. There are still six games to play, and then I will have an answer to give you all.”
