For a long time sections of the Chile press have suggested Alexis Sanchez may be too good for Arsenal, and that’s coming to the forefront now.
After failing to get a Champions League spot with the club for next season, Sanchez can expected a bust period of rumours, with his name already linked to several big clubs.
Chilean newspaper El Mercurio encourage the rumours on Monday, as even their front page claims it will be hard for Arsenal to keep Sanchez after not finishing in the top four.
In the full story, it’s said the player’s future is now ‘uncertain’ and the demands are clear: he will join the club who accept to pay him $18m per season (£265k per week).
El Mercurio takes the recent quotes from Arturo Vidal and Edinson Cavani to say Sanchez could join Bayern Munich or Paris Saint Germain, but the newspaper also claims that Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all want the player.
With its headline saying ‘not even Alexis Sánchez’ best campaign could avoid Arsenal’s resounding failure’, the Chilean media makes it clear they think he’s too good to be a Gunner.
