On June 21st, FcInterNews reported Nottingham Forest have joined the race to sign Robin Gosens, and Inter Milan have identified Monza’s Carlos Augusto as a candidate to replace the German.

Fast forward to the end of July and the Tricky Trees seem to have shifted their focus to Augusto, according to La Stampa, relayed by Forza Monza.

Nottingham Forest’s desire to sign him is mentioned when the report explains that Torino are keeping close tabs on the Brazilian’s situation.

Operating mainly as a left wing-back, he scored six goals and five assists from 37 games last season. This has seen him attract attention from the Turin club, Juventus and Inter.

It’s said Ivan Jurić’s side want to overcome competition from the Serie A club to acquire the player’s signature.

The outlet has warned Torino that they must ‘beware’ of the competition from abroad and this is when Nottingham Forest are mentioned.

The report states Steve Cooper’s side are ‘very interested’ in signing the player while Newcastle United remain attentive to his situation.

Augusto’s contract expires in 2024 and that could force Monza to cash in from his sale this summer.
