Although the end of the transfer window still allows players to leave the Premier League clubs, some departures now seem very unlikely.

This is the case of Toby Alderweird and Dejan Lovren. Although the Tottenham Hotspur and the Liverpool players have been heavily linked to a move to Italy, it’s hard to see Spurs and Reds accepting bids for them now.

That’s why as written by Italian website Calcio Mercato today, Roma are now changing their market plans and going for other targets instead.

They say that with Tottenham and Liverpool failing to sign more defenders this summer, Roma’s pursuit for Alderweird and Lovren got ‘complicated’.

Roma are said to be still trying, with ‘constant contacts’ with Lovren’s agent, but the signing is still seen as very unlikely.

Meanwhile, the club are said to be now targeting Juventus’ Daniele Rugani, who ironically had been a target for Premier League clubs this summer.
