First brought up back in April, Leicester City’s interest in Samuele Ricci continues to be a topic of conversation in Italy.

SerieBNews reported on Wednesday that the Foxes, alongside Arsenal, had been ‘forced to wait’ before making a move for the 19-year-old, making it clear the interest had ‘never waned’.

Corriere dello Sport pick that up on Thursday, claiming Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina have all been following for some time, before explaining that Leicester were also on the case.

Furthermore, Brendan Rodgers’ side, who appear to be focusing on young talent more and more, may need to be even more patient than first thought, as the Italian newspaper state that Empoli, where Ricci is currently contracted, have a plan for him.

That is to keep him at the club for another year before selling him, even if that is their end game: making money from a likely expensive sale.

The young midfielder has found himself in the team quite a bit this year despite his young age, helping Empoli return to Serie A in the process, making 33 league appearances, during which he scored two goals and assisted his teammates four times.
