As you may know, Antonio Conte is currently being linked to the vacant job at Tottenham.

There have been a huge amount of articles reporting this, and the Italian media are having a field day giving as many details as they can if they have them.

La Stampa are no different, and, relayed by FC Inter News, give their version of events.

While some in England believe no offer has been made from Spurs’ end, the newspaper see it very different, claiming a ‘fat contract’ is awaiting him at Tottenham.

They claim the manager will be earning ‘over €15m per season’ in London, although the final figure ‘could even be close to €20m’.

While they acknowledge the fact that both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid approached him, the meetings ‘were not as concrete’ as the one with Spurs, with it stated that a return to the Premier League, with Tottenham the only big club with a vacancy, ‘has always been Conte’s real landing place’.

This suggests the Italian manager had eyes for no one else, meaning there is a will to get a deal done and return to a competition he enjoyed managing in during his time at Chelsea a few years ago.
