Andreas Christensen has entered his final six months of contract at Chelsea and there has been no progress made so far for him to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Barcelona have been regularly credited with an interest in the defender and last month, Mundo Deportivo stated the demands made by his father for the renewal have not pleased the Blues.

The 25-year-old recently changed agents and it’s not clear whether this was done with an intention to commit his long-term future to the west London club or make a move elsewhere.

If the Denmark international were to pick the latter, he has a handful of options in the summer.

Germany’s Bravo Sport name the La Liga side, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund as the ‘interested clubs’ in the centre-back.

Recent reports in Italy have named Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly and Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt as centre-back targets for Xavi Hernández’s side.

These claims are relayed in today’s Sport, who then go on to state the Catalan club are ‘clear’ that they will have to ‘strengthen the defence a lot’.

The newspaper adds Barcelona’s ‘idea’ is to sign a central defender on a free transfer in the summer and Thomas Tuchel’s man fits the bill.

Regarding the Dane, It’s claimed the ‘arrival’ of Christensen at the Camp Nou after this season is ‘well advanced’.
