Portuguese side Porto want their feud with Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva to be over, according to reports today.

Newspaper Record writes that the Dragons’ administration wants the ‘case closed’ following the attacks between the two parties in the past few weeks.

At the end of the game in Porto on Tuesday, sporting Director Luís Gonçalves was spotted speaking to Bernardo Silva and trying to settle things down.

Record’s story claims that besides stopping the controversy, Porto also want to keep their ‘moral superiority’ for being the victims of mistakes from the referees in both games against Manchester City.

The quarrel between Bernardo Silva and Porto started in the first game, which Manchester City won 3-1. The player, who’s a Benfica fan, made an Instagram post saying ‘this one felt so good’.

Porto manager Sérgio Conceição then claimed this was a ‘childish’ attitude from the midfielder. The rivalry continued following the second game, when the Portuguese manager was pretty acidic when responding to Pep Guardiola’s complaints about his style of play.

Now as the clubs probably won’t face each other again this season, things are expected to cool down for a while.
