On Tuesday, 1908.nl reported Feyenoord are aware of Liverpool’s interest in Orkun Kökcü. It was also stated Benfica are keen to sign him and could offer €30m to the Dutch club.

The Eagles ‘want to prevent’ the midfielder from ‘moving to Liverpool’ or another club by making an offer today to both the star and the Eredivisie winners.

That’s according to De Telegraaf, who state Benfica have been in the running to sign the 22-year-old for several months.

The Portuguese club have been on pole for a long time but are also aware there’s ‘serious’ interest from the Premier League. The list of clubs who have been in contact is long and it also includes the Reds.

It’s not made clear if the English clubs have been in contact with Feyenoord, the player or both. With regards to Liverpool, the report states Jürgen Klopp is ‘charmed’ by the Turkey international.

Feyenoord, who are ‘aiming for a record deal’ from Kökcü’s sale in the summer, have put a €40m price tag on him.

It’s now down to him to decide where he wants to move next. The player hopes to have clarity before Turkey’s European qualifiers against Latvia and Wales later this month.

Kökcü managed 12 goals and five assists from 46 games last season.
