Sevilla will not let Chelsea catch Steven N’Zonzi so easily, according to reports from Spain.

El Desmarque are claiming this Wednesday that the La Liga side already have a plan to protect the player from the interest he’s been attracting.

Recent articles from England have suggested that Antonio Conte’s side would be looking to make an approach for the 27-year-old soon.

But El Desmarque claims that Sevilla president José Castro is ready to convince the former Stoke City player to stay by giving him a new contract.

The new deal is reportedly set to be made public in the next few weeks, as the club want it to happen before the open of the January window.

Reports from Spain have suggested that the clause in N’Zonzi’s current contract is of €30m, which is no barrier for Chelsea and Conte. Signing for Sevilla from Stoke City in 2015 for a fee of €8m, N’Zonzi started slowly at the Spanish club but is now a crucial player.

Sevilla have a history of allowing players to leave should good offers come in, they may well be set against a January sale, but could be happier to listen come the summer.
