Missing out on Nicolas Pépé to Arsenal, Napoli still need to sign the right-winger they promised Carlo Ancelotti.

Prior to the Ivory Coast international, one of their main targets was PSV’s Hirving Lozano, and he’s come back into the mix these last few days, joined by a new target: Wilfried Zaha.

The story appears to have originated in England, and while a journalist in Italy, Ciro Venerato, was adamant the Serie A club have no interest in the Selhurst Park star, Gazzetta dello Sport think differently.

It’s explained Cristiano Giuntoli, Napoli’s director of football, with the help of one of his ‘collaborators’, got in touch with Palace to ‘understand their intentions’.

They then quote the Daily Mail article for the ‘valuation’ of £60m, which translates to around €65m.

Gazzetta believe Napoli would be ‘prepared to pay’ that, but only via instalments over the next few years.

Carlo Ancelotti is said to have given the green light for the operation, on which Giuntoli is currently working alongside other deals, like that of James Rodriguez.

However, it’s stated it would probably be one or the other, not both.

The fact the Daily Mail article is mentioned does make us raise an eyebrow regarding the rest of the article, but the extra detail (that isn’t in the English outlet’s) suggests they have acquired some information of their own on the matter.
