Italian side Bologna are considering a move for midfielder Tom Davies once he leaves Everton at the end of the month.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say the Serie A side are ‘monitoring several names’ to strengthen their midfield this summer and Davies is one of them.

The midfielder is set to leave Everton at the end of this month when his current contract expires, with him and the Toffees announcing the news earlier this week.

His departure will bring a lifelong association with Everton to an end, with the midfielder keen to move to pastures new and try to give his career a kickstart.

He’s been linked with a move to Italy, where Monza were said to have already offered him a deal, and now Bologna can be added to the list of suitors.

They’re looking to add a player who can bring ‘grit and running’ to their midfield as Gary Medel is set to depart and believe the Everton man could be a smart addition on a free transfer.

They see him as a ‘fresh but already experienced player’ to bolster their squad given he has 155 Premier League appearances under his belt but is only 24 years old.

The fact he is also available on a free transfer is a bonus for a side who have to keep an eye on their budget this summer.
